Hotel Cueva Ahumada Review

I stayed there in June 2020 with my boyfriend and this place is a perfect getaway place. Built in the harmony with nature it offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere.

Location

If you are looking for somewhere where to stay while exploring the Natural Park "Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas" then this hotel might not be ideal, as it is located more in the North part of the Natural Park but all the main sights are in the middle of the park and as the park is quite big it took us an hour to get to the main lake and hiking trails.

If you are looking for a quiet place by nature where to relax then this ideal spot.

Parking

The hotel has and offers parking for free.

Restaurant

The mountain hotel offers breakfast and dinner on request. I am not sure if it is because of covid or that is just the way they work but you have to notify them if you will want breakfast and/or dinner. We only asked for breakfast, which was included in the price. The breakfast was nice but limited to standard Spanish breakfast type that consists of toast with fresh tomatoes. You could get an omelette and other typical breakfast foods if you asked. The best part about breakfast is that it is served on their outdoor terrace with an amazing view.

The dinner we never tried as we went to near town for dinner.

Amenities

Besides the terrace with breathtaking views where you can chill outside breakfast hours too, the hotel offers a seasonal pool and fireplace lounge. The whole hotel interior is done in balance with nature from big stones and everything is decorated accordingly, so in general, it creates a very special atmosphere.

Reception

The reception staff was very friendly and helped us plan out our trip and find the best trails to hike. They do speak English.

Room

The room like the whole hotel was done very nicely with little decors and in a similar style. The room was big enough, had a seif and the bathroom was completely equipt with hairdryer and toiletries. We also had a direct exit to the garden, but I believe this facility depends on the room type. Room cleanness was great too.

Covid (influence)

The standard procedures were in place - hand sanitisers were offered and staff wore masks. Unfortunately, the pool was closed because of covid.
