Application Procedure

• To initiate the process for e-visa application, gather the Malaysia visa document requirements as listed below:

• Carefully fill out the Malaysia visa application form. Ensure all sections are accurate. 

• Also, provide two passport-size photographs with a plain white background.

• Clear copies of your passport. Include both front and back pages. Also, ensure the passport is valid and has empty pages for entry stamps. 

• Provide copies of your hotel reservation and return flight tickets as proof of travel.

• For business visa applications, attach your bank statements for the past three months and a reference letter from your employer.

• Step 2 involves the processing of fee payment. Pay the visa fee via your valid credit/debit card.

• After receiving all your documents and passports, we thoroughly assess them. Then, initiate the submission process to the embassy on your behalf.

• After submission to the embassy, it takes three to four days for the proceedings of your tourist visa. Once your documents are approved, you will receive a notification via email.

• For applications with passports, who need a visa and travel documents before entry, the official portal provides information about the immigration department of Malaysia for eVisa. The website offers a platform to access all the necessary information regarding passports requiring a visa for entry.

Eligibility Criteria for Tourist Visa

I have gathered the eligibility criteria for a Malaysia tourist visa. 

• At least two blank pages should be available on your passport.

• The passport should be in good condition without any unauthorized alterations.

• Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the day of your arrival in Malaysia.

• Expired e-visas require renewal / new application and payment of application fees.

Here is a list of Malaysia visa document requirements: 

• Color copy of passport holding six months validity via email.

• Against a white background, a passport-size photo of yours.

• A copy of your bank statement with records of the past three months.

• Proof of travel via confirmed hotel reservations and return flight tickets.

Applicable Fee Charges:

• Visa fee: 7 US dollars for single entry and 14 US dollars for multiple entry

• Processing fee: 105 ringgit (Malaysian Currency) OR 22.50 US dollars

• Convenience fee: this depends on the chosen payment method

• E-commerce or Mastercard: a fee of 0.8% of the total transaction amount

• E-wallet (Alipay, WechatPay, or UnionPay): 1.7% of the transaction amount

Important Tip

The issuing authority will determine the exact validity period of your visa, which can range from one to three months from the date of issue. If needed for some cases, extensions are permissible.

Another important information to know is about MDAC. Starting January 1st, 2024, all international visitors to Malaysia have to complete a Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).
